Rear-running Hit Show 🇺🇸, ridden by jockey Florent Geroux, sliced through the field and chased down confident leader Mixto 🇺🇸, under Frankie Dettori, to win the $12 million Dubai World Cup 🇦🇪🏆 by half a length.
The race favourite, Forever Young 🇯🇵 (フォーエバーヤング), with Ryusei Sakai in the saddle, couldn’t match the turn of foot of the 66/1 longshot and had to settle for third.

In the lead-up to his remarkable Dubai victory, the five-year-old grey son of Candy Ride 🇦🇷, a top-class dirt runner, placed third in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap in early March, following a win in the Grade 3 Louisiana Stakes in January.

Thanks to his Dubai win, Hit Show 🇺🇸, trained by Brad H. Cox and owned by Wathnan Racing, has now qualified for the Breeders’ Cup Classic in November. 🏇
